Edit prebuilt tiles and framesLink to this section

Use the prebuilt tiles and frames in your account to quickly create basic layouts. The prebuilt tiles and frames can be edited by Omni CMS staff only. To modify a prebuilt tile or frame, copy and rename the file.

Edit tilesLink to this section

1. Go to Content > Melody > Tiles.
2. Click the filename for the tile.
3. Click the lightbulb icon to check out the file for edits.
4. In the page actions toolbar, click Edit.
5. Edit the tile.
   • Click CSS Reference to see a guide for using classes in Melody.
6. Click Launch.
   • If the tile content type is WYSIWYG, remove and replace the tile in each layout that uses it. 
7. Launch all layouts using the tile.

When you launch the layout, edits will appear automatically in pages using the tiles.

Use a custom thumbnailLink to this section

Thumbnail images show as a preview of the tile or frame when users are building a layout.

1. Go to Content > Melody > Tiles or Frames.
2. Click the filename for the tile or frame.
3. Go to Properties > Settings.
4. Click the filechooser to upload an image.
   • When the underlying code for a tile isn't visual, select the checkbox to Use Thumbnail As Preview in the layout editor.
5. Save and Launch to make the tile or frame available for use in creating layouts.

Preview a tile or frameLink to this section

Preview what your tile or frame looks like on different devices.

1. Go to Content > Melody > Tiles or Frames.
2. Click the filename for the tile or frame.
3. In the page actions toolbar, click Preview.
4. In the toolbar, click Preview Tablet Size or Preview Mobile Size.

2. Click the filename.
3. Click the lightbulb icon to check out the tile or frame.
4. In the page actions toolbar, click Versions.

See a log of actions taken—like create, save, launch, and revert—on a tile or frame.

1. Go to Content > Melody > Tiles or Frames.
2. Click the filename.
3. In the page actions toolbar, click Properties > Log.

Copy or renameLink to this section

1. Go to Content > Melody > Tiles or Frames.
2. Click the More Actions menu for the tile or frame.
3. Click File > Copy or Rename.

Disable or deleteLink to this section

Disable a tile or frame to prevent it from being added to new layouts. Layouts and pages that use these tiles and frames will not be affected. Administrators will still have access to a disabled tiles and frames in Content > Melody > Tiles or Frames.

1. Go to Content > Melody > Tiles or Frames.
2. Click the More Actions menu for the tile or frame.
3. Click File > Disable.

To restore a tile or frame for use in layouts, click File > Enable.

Delete a tile or frame to remove it from the list of available content. Administrators will no longer have access to a deleted tile or frame.

1. Go to Content > Melody > Tiles or Frames.
2. Click the More Actions menu for the tile or frame.
3. Click File > Delete.

Deleted tiles and frames will remain in existing layouts and pages until you remove them.
