Generate an Approximate CMS Content Inventory
If you need an approximate inventory of the content and assets in your Modern Campus CMS account, you can use a combination of existing reports and tools to gather the information.
While Modern Campus CMS does not currently provide a single dashboard or built-in report that summarizes all inventory metrics in one location, you can use the following methods to estimate the number of pages, assets, forms, domains, and other CMS-managed resources.
This information is commonly used when preparing for:
- Website audits
- CMS migrations
- Accessibility initiatives
- Administrative or compliance reporting
- Content inventory projects

To generate an approximate count of your site's files:
- Navigate to Reports > Custom Reports > File Products.
- Run the report.
- Export the results as a CSV file.
- Open the CSV in a spreadsheet application.
- Filter the data by file type to identify:
- Production pages
- Documents
- Images
- Media assets
- Count the remaining records for each file type to obtain an approximate inventory.
FormsLink to this section
To determine the number of forms in your CMS account:
- Navigate to Assets.
- Set the Asset Type filter to Forms.
- Review the filtered list.
The resulting list represents the forms stored in your CMS account.
DomainsLink to this section
To view the domains configured in your CMS:
- Navigate to Setup > Sites.
- Review the configured site domains.
Each configured site represents a domain managed within your CMS account.
SubdomainsLink to this section
The site definitions listed under Setup > Sites can also be used to identify CMS-managed subdomains.
Depending on your implementation, each site definition may correspond to a primary domain or a subdomain.
RedirectsLink to this section
The availability of redirect information depends on your hosting configuration.
Modern Campus Hosting
If your site is hosted by Modern Campus and redirects are managed through Modern Campus Hosting, redirect totals may be available.
Non-Hosted
If your site is not hosted by Modern Campus, redirects are typically managed outside of Modern Campus CMS (for example, through your web server or reverse proxy).
Contact your institution's IT department or hosting provider to obtain redirect counts.
LimitationsLink to this section
Modern Campus CMS does not currently include a single inventory dashboard or report that summarizes all of the following in one location:
- Production pages
- Documents
- Images
- Media assets
- Forms
- Redirects
- Domains
- Subdomains
Instead, this information can be gathered by combining the reports and administrative views described in this article.
Because these methods rely on existing reports and filtered results, the totals should be considered approximate and may vary depending on your site's configuration and content management practices.
