Career and Program Explorer Embed Code

The Career and Program Explorer Embed Code page allow web designers and school administrators to copy and paste the Career and Program Explorer embed code into any webpage that is in a Pathways-allowed domain.

The Pathways: Career and Program Explorer is a full-page web application. By default, it is available at https://<your school domain>/Careers.

The settings on this page affect the specific embed code only. Changes to the default /careers CPE will require the embed code to be manually updated.

Navigate to Career and Program Explorer Embed Code Page

  1. Select Marketing from the first navigation tier.
  2. Navigate to the Pathways > Career and Program Explorer page from the second navigation tier.
  3. Click the Embed Code tab.

Add Career and Program Explorer to your Modern Campus Lifelong Learning Extended Education Public View MenuLink to this section

By default, the Career and Program Explorer will be publicly available, but its URL will not be inserted into any public-facing school content. It will be up to schools to determine where to put the Career and Program Explorer links, and whether a link or embedded search box would be best. To add Career and Program Explorer to your Modern Campus Lifelong Learning Extended Education Public View menu system, speak to Modern Campus Lifelong Learning Extended Education Support.

To display the For Careers menu in the Public View, institutions must set the configuration property Pathways: Career and Program Explorer PV Menu (key: customize_feature.pathways.careerAndProgramExplorerLink) under System Administration > Configuration Editor.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) History is enabled by default for Modern Campus Lifelong Learning Extended Education customers who use the Public View.

Without it, Career and Program Explorer will have a hash code (#) in the URL as prospects and students explore their careers. The Career and Program Explorer URL contains the location and occupation information to display and is more easily crawled by search bots without the hash code.

For institutions not using the Modern Campus Lifelong Learning Extended Education Public View will need to talk with their internal system administrator to update their web servers. Server configuration information can be found here.
