Public View - Job Market Outlook

By saving any changes in the Course and Certificate Profile page, schools publish the Pathways: Job Market Outlook information for that certificate or course. All references to the certificate’s Pathways: Job Market Outlook information in any webpage will automatically be updated to reflect any changes.

Where the Pathways: Job Market Outlook information is published is decided entirely by school administrators. By copying and pasting the embed code available on the Curriculum Manager > Certificate > Profile or Curriculum Manager > Courses > Course Profile pages, school administrators can embed job market outlook data for a given certificate in any part of any page on a whitelisted domain.

Once the setup is complete, the Pathways: Job Market Outlook information is publicly visible. It will give prospects and students important insight into the occupation and salary opportunities related to school certificates.

The following figure references and describes key elements that prospects can see and interact with.

Schools can select to show data about opportunities in a specific geographical area only as described in Appearance Profile Settings.

Calculated based on the supply of jobs for the selected region and based on all occupations that align with the selected career. This data is updated regularly.

Average Salary

Calculated based on the average of all relevant occupations tied to the career using the school setting for salary percentile (as described Appearance Profile Settings). This data is updated regularly.

Current Job Posting

The demand for jobs for the selected region is based on job board postings for occupations related to this offering.

Past Growth

The historical growth or decline by year for a selected career is based on an aggregation of the supply of jobs for the selected region and related occupations.

This can display up to three years of previous job growth (as described in Appearance Profile Settings).

Projected Growth

Calculated based on a combination of government-published sources at the national, state, and regional levels and a combination of the short-, mid-, and long-term trend lines.

This can display up to seven years of projected job growth (as described in Appearance Profile Settings).

Top Occupations by Income

Top occupations in the selected area are based on the salary of the selected percentile of workers. Prospects and students can tap or click on each occupation to view its description.

This can display up to eight related occupations and average salaries based on five different salary percentiles (10, 25, 50, 75, and 90) as described in Appearance Profile Settings.
