Allow website visitors to RSVP for events on your calendar. You can enable automated, branded emails and/or email attendees manually. Then manage attendee status using Modern Campus CMS.

To get started,

  1. Enable RSVPs in both site and calendar settings and add Google CAPTCHA.
  2. Then add RSVPs to individual events.

Registration and AuthenticationLink to this section

To protect your public website and prevent spam, visitors must register for your events using their email address and name. By registering, your visitors are agreeing to Google's reCAPTCHA policies: Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

If you choose to enable automated emails with RSVPs, emails are sent from a Modern Campus SMTP server. We use temporary, one-time codes in automated emails to authenticate attendees. If an attendee does not verify their email within 10 minutes, they will see a prompt similar to the following:

For Event SeriesLink to this section

When using RSVPs for an event series (recurring events), attendees are registering to attend the entire series. RSVPs cannot be submitted for single events within the series. The event details pages for single dates in the series link to a Series Overview page, where attendees can RSVP.

Manage RSVP EventsLink to this section

After you have published an event with RSVPs, manage responses and changes from Add-Ons > Calendar > RSVP. Click the More Actions menu for the RSVP to

Edit the event. Then republish to see updates on your public events page.

Note: If your event already has attendees, email them with changes.

Export to CSV

This downloads a CSV file containing attendee details. Exported details include,

  • Attendee ID
  • Attendee Name
  • Attendee Email
  • Time of Registration (Formatted)
  • Time Registration Was Verified (Formatted)
  • Verification Method
  • Registration Status

Delete the RSVP details from the event. This does not delete the event itself.

The event will update automatically to remove the RSVP details.

If your event already has attendees, email them with changes.

Manage AttendeesLink to this section

To manage attendees in Modern Campus CMS,

  1. Go to Add-Ons > Calendar > RSVP.
  2. Click the RSVP Event Name to see all attendees and their status.
    • Tab between the three status options for attendees: Pending email verification, Verified their attendance, and Canceled attendance.
  3. Check the Pending tab regularly to see two types of action needed (noted in the Action column):
    1. The attendee needs to click the email link to verify their registration, or
    2. The attendee needs to click the email link to confirm their cancelation.

In both cases, attendees should return to the event details page and click RSVP to either register or cancel their attendance. Or you can click the More Actions menu for the attendee to,

Set to Pending, Verify, or Cancel

Manually move the attendee to a new status, either Pending, Verified, or Canceled, without sending an automated email to the attendee.

Open a new message in your default email client using a mailto link. The attendee is added to the Bcc line in the email to protect privacy.

Click the Select All checkbox to email all attendees simultaneously.

Attendees can add events to their calendar but they will manage their responses using email, not the ICS file.

Remove the attendee and their details from Modern Campus CMS, permanently.

Click the Select All checkbox to delete all attendees simultaneously.

You can also Export to CSV to manage the attendee details outside of Modern Campus CMS. This is the same export in RSVP Events.

Prevent New RSVPsLink to this section

If you would like to remove the ability to add new RSVPs to events while still retaining past RSVP details, disable RSVP in calendar settings (and keep RSVP enabled in site settings). Users will no longer be able to add RSVPs to individual events but will see details of previous RSVPs at Add-Ons > Calendar > RSVP.
