Form Submissions
After a form is launched and published to a page, all submissions are stored and accessible from the CMS.
- Go to Content > Forms (Beta).
- Select your form from the list.
- Open the Submissions tab to view collected responses.
Submissions are grouped by the version of the form that was active when the user submitted it. Submission details include the date of the submission, field labels used in the form, Submitted From showing where the form was used, and files uploaded (if applicable).
Every submission also has a More Actions menu with a View option, allowing you to open an individual detail view, making it easier to review long responses or locate file uploads. From here, you can also Delete submissions (and their file uploads).
Submissions are stored securely by Modern Campus. If detected, sensitive values such as credit card/bank numbers and SSNs are automatically scrubbed and redacted with *** before being stored. The redacted content is not available to the system.
From Internal EmailsLink to this section
If internal email notifications are enabled, submission alerts will be sent to your configured recipients when someone submits the form. These emails contain a direct link to the form’s Submissions tab in the CMS.
To view submissions, users must be logged into the CMS. Clicking the email link will prompt login if not already signed in. This link will open the exact form and allow authorized users to browse, search, and export submissions depending on their CMS permissions.
Version AwarenessLink to this section
Each submission is linked to the specific version of the form that was active when it was submitted. If the form is later edited and relaunched a new version is created. Previous submissions remain tied to earlier versions. This ensures you can interpret data accurately even if the form structure changes.
When Files Are SubmittedLink to this section
When a user submits a form that includes file uploads the files are uploaded to a secure quarantine location. Clean files are moved to a secure storage bucket and links to the uploaded files appear in the form submission record and in CSV exports. File uploads are not attached to email notifications. Users must log in to view or download files from the Submissions view for security reasons.
View Uploaded Files
Each file uploaded through a form is stored securely and linked to the corresponding submission. To access them:
- Go to Content > Forms.
- Open the form you want to view.
- Or click More Actions > View for the file.
- Select the Submissions tab.
- Each file upload field displays as a link under its column header.
- Click to Download the file.
If a file is still being scanned, its status will appear as Pending.
If the scan detects a threat or the upload fails, the file will show as Failed.
Export Submissions with Uploads
When you Export to CSV from the Submissions view, file uploads appear as download URLs within the export. Each URL points to a secure location managed by Modern Campus, allowing safe access without exposing the original storage path. The download link for the file will remain active for approximately 7 days, with a note about expiration in the CSV.
